Week of September 16, 2019

This was an exciting week for Grade 6! We were busy making preparations for ICF which connected very closely to our unit. On ICF, they were finally able to see the fruits of their labor.

Grade 6 created the Angolan landscape and flag in the background!








Grade 6 had the chance to teach Pre-K B how to play Mancala, a popular game in Angola.

Grade 6 was busy with preparations for Sports Day.

The kids had an opportunity to visit the Kobe Center for Overseas Migration and Cultural Interaction. They learned about why Japanese people immigrated to South America and they lived once upon arrival. Since our unit is about cultural exchange, they discussed the impact that the Japanese had on places in Latin America and vice versa.

Grade 6 conducted a mini-exhibition to prepare the the actual PYP exhibition in February. The students prepared a slideshow, posters, and activities that showed how cultural exchange between their chosen country and other parts of the world.
