During music class, grade 6 has been exploring the role that music plays in telling a story. In order to demonstrate an understanding of this concept, students were to create a story using only music coupled with silent acting. They began planning and creating props for this task.
In English, grade 6 has been practicing identifying the topic and main idea of text. The students worked together to complete a sorting activity involving this skill.
For our current unit of inquiry, we have been studying the ways in which humans adapt to their environment. This includes both behavioral and physical adaptations.
Students practiced their analysis skills by examining an advertisement. They combined what they see and background knowledge to figure out the purpose of the advertisement.
Students created an abstract art painting using geometric and organic shapes.
